"Evergreen Tower" is the name of an apartment tower located in eastern Seoul. We often do not know much about our neighbors who live in the exact same layout. To find a clue to this story, the artist visited neighbors one day with a flyer that read, "An artist will take your family portrait for free." Home is an extremely private space, and we do not easily open our doors to strangers to reveal the interior of our homes and the faces of our families. This work utilizes the function of art to bring a private space into the public sphere. The portraits of middle class Korean families living in these identical apartments reveal the individuality of each family member, their ways of living, and the unique combinations they form. 〈상록타워〉는 서울시 광진구 광장동에 위치한 아파트의 이름이다. 우리는 나와 똑같은 구조 속에 살아가는 이웃을 잘 알지 못한다. 작가는 이 이야기의 단서를 잡기 위해 어느 날 ‘예술가가 무료로 가족사진을 찍어드립니다.’라는 전단지를 들고 이웃을 찾아간다. 집은 지극히 사적인 공간으로, 우리는 쉽사리 남에게 문을 열어 집안의 모습 그리고 가족의 모습을 보여주지 않는다. 이 작품은 예술이 가진 기능을 통해 사적인 공간을 공적인 것으로 드러내는 작업이다. 동일한 구조의 아파트에서 살아가는 한국 중산층 가정의 모습은 각 세대 구성원들의 개성과 그들의 사는 모습 그리고 그들이 이루는 조합을 보여준다.
