"Kigali, Into Night the" features Rwanda, a country in East Africa and the scene of a genocide in 1994, which remains a place of unremoved pain. Rwanda, also known as the country of a thousand hills, is the location where lightning is observed the most in the world. Participating in a project called 'Road Show', the artist took street videos while riding a motorcycle taxi in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda. The act of taking flash photos on the streets, which is a highly touristic activity, along with the sound of thunder, evokes the gunshots of the past that once echoed in the city. 〈키갈리, 밤 속으로〉는 1994년 인종 대학살을 겪은 동아프리카의 나라로, 아직도 씻기지 않은 아픔이 남아있는 곳인 르완다를 다룬다. 또한 천 개의 고원의 나라라고도 불리는 르완다는 전 세계에서 번개가 가장 많이 관측되는 곳이기도 하다. 작가는 ‘로드쇼’라는 프로젝트에 참여하며, 르완다의 수도 키갈리 지역에서 오토바이 택시를 타고 다니며 길거리 영상을 촬영했다. 지극히 관광객의 행위인 길거리 플래시 사진 찍기 행위와 천둥소리는 과거 이 도시에서 울려 퍼졌을 당시의 총성을 연상시킨다.
