"Wild Goose Chase" was proposed through an encounter with a blind Japanese photographer, Shiratori, in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, which is not far from the nuclear power plant in Fukushima. From this developed a collaboration where the artist gave the photographer a new camera to replace his old one. In return, Shiratori provided Jung with eighty thousand photographs over a year, taken during his daily strolls in his hometown. From a selection of 1,500 photographs, Jung made a five-minute slideshow accompanied by the well known Japanese piano work ‘A Wild Goose Chase’ by Ozone Makoto. Mito citizens who live in fear of invisible radiation and blind photographer Shiratori’s photographic record over one year contrast symbolically in the video. 〈와일드 구스 체이스〉는 후쿠시마 원전과 가까운 곳에 위치한 일본 이바라키현의 미토시에서 작가가 우연히 시라토리 켄지라는 한 시각장애인 사진가를 만나며 시작되었다. 작가가 그 사진가에게 그의 낡은 카메라를 대신할 새 카메라를 선물하면서 콜라보레이션이 시작되었고, 카메라에 대한 보답으로 그는 작가에게 1년간 그가 집과 직장을 오가며 찍은 80,000여 장의 사진들을 보내주었다. 작가는 사진들 중 1,500장을 골라, 시라토리 씨가 가장 좋아하는 일본의 유명 피아니스트 오조네 마코토가 작곡한 연주곡 ‘와일드 구스 체이스’에 맞추어 슬라이드 쇼를 만들었다. 눈에 보이지 않는 방사능에 대해 두려움을 안고 살아가는 미토 시민들과, 앞이 보이지 않는 시라토리 씨가 매일 1년 동안 기록한 사진들은 상징적으로 영상 속에서 대조를 이룬다.
